Thenessa, an LPC, is a graduate of the Masters of Arts in Professional Counseling program at Amberton University. Thenessa earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Biology from East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, Texas.

Thenessa is a Christian who is happily married and absolutely loves being a mom. She is very supportive of her children and encourages them in their academics as well as their extracurricular activities. She embraces reflecting the change she wants to see in the world.

Approach & Values

Thenessa has worked in the counseling field for more than 15 years. She has worked with individuals as young as six years old and clients well in their nineties. She completed an internship working with adolescent and adult sex offenders and worked a mental health caseload with CSCD of Tarrant County. For 4 1/2 years, she has worked with elderly and mentally delayed individuals, primarily interacting with Alzheimer’s and dementia clients. She currently sees individuals and couples dealing with life transitions, marital issues, anxiety, stress, and depression. She is a certified Prepare-Enrich Pre-marital facilitator. Her theory of practice is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
