Hello! I’m Lawrence¬†

Practicum Student

I am Lawrence Randle, a first-year Professional Counseling Practicum student, and have spent
the last 7 years working as a school counselor at an all-boys middle school. I specialize in
adolescent to young adult male issues such as communication, anger, decision-making, and
impulse control.

It is more important than ever to make authentic connections. My first therapeutic goal is to create a space that allows us to be whole, compassionate individuals, partners, fathers, sons, and friends. In connecting with men struggling to connect with their loved ones, I help men make sense of the changing landscape of expectations. I cover issues from self-esteem to relationships to depression to Men’s issues and guide individuals through it all.

Approach & Values

I believe that many individuals arrive at a situation or a time in life when they experience stressors in love, life, or labor. There are some situations in life that we cannot control, but we can learn to see these situations as opportunities to grow instead of simply seeing them as good or bad. We construct meaning from a life based on one’s beliefs created by an individual. However, our beliefs can change. The meaning we ascribe to life experiences determines our goals and decision-making. Once we see a pattern of consequences or behavior that does not fit our expectations, counseling assists in rewiring our thought patterns and guides us to reach our desired goals.

Additionally, I believe life prepares you for the next thing; the experiences life has afforded me through sports, love, and marriage are preparing me for this journey of encouragement in counseling.

I will take my time to listen and learn about what life is teaching you and add perspective to your journey.
