Hello! I’m Lawrence
I specialize in adolescent to young adult issues such as communication, anger, decision-making, and impulse control. I believe life is constantly preparing you for what’s coming next; my experiences as an educator, athlete, husband, and father have given me a unique perspective regarding the mental health profession. I want to take the time to listen and learn about what life is teaching you and hopefully offer a diverse perspective and understanding of the quality and direction you desire for your life.
Individuals arrive at a situation or a time in life when they experience stressors in various areas of life. There are some things in life that we cannot control, but we can learn to view our circumstances as opportunities to learn and grow from instead of simply identifying them as good or bad.
Counseling serves as a tool that can rewire our thought patterns and help reframe the attitudes, beliefs, and choices that hinder progress; so that we can be more effective at reaching our desired goals.
Approach & Values
I believe that many individuals arrive at a situation or a time in life when they experience stressors in love, life, or labor. There are some situations in life that we cannot control, but we can learn to see these situations as opportunities to grow instead of simply seeing them as good or bad. We construct meaning from a life based on one’s beliefs created by an individual. However, our beliefs can change. The meaning we ascribe to life experiences determines our goals and decision-making. Once we see a pattern of consequences or behavior that does not fit our expectations, counseling assists in rewiring our thought patterns and guides us to reach our desired goals.
Additionally, I believe life prepares you for the next thing; the experiences life has afforded me through sports, love, and marriage are preparing me for this journey of encouragement in counseling.
I will take my time to listen and learn about what life is teaching you and add perspective to your journey.
