Kala is a student at Lamar University completing her Master’s of Education in Counseling and Development-Marriage and Family Therapy. Her goal is to help her clients become better versions of themselves using a solution-focused brief therapy approach to help guide them through their life experiences and grow from those experiences. Using compassion, active listening, and empathy, Kala is thrilled to dive into the counseling world with a diverse population and help change lives under the supervision of Dr. Megan Pickens. Kala is interested in working with couples and families and has a background in working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) as a registered behavior technician and is comfortable working with children/adolescents. Social and emotional difficulties such as stress, anxiety, and depression are also areas of interest for Kala. She lives in Mansfield, TX, and spends her free time kickboxing or with family and friends. She also enjoys watching football and basketball and loves to travel.
